This is the original text for the interview that features on the double-page spread for the music magazine.
NerdE. This time last year, if we had mentioned his name,
you would’ve thought we were taunting you middle school style. Now, however,
you can’t hear enough of him. After his first chiptune album ‘N-gage’, he
became the most watched artist on YouTube (after PSY of course) and now we
bring you the exclusive interview with the intent of leaking some information
on his new album ‘01001110’ which takes a completely new form, introducing more
instruments and special guest artists BRL and Hylian Lemon. Let’s try and get
some really gritty info from him…
So, NerdE, let’s talk
about your new album...
It’s alright… it was inspired by the chiptune genre
But you are a
chiptune artist…
So my album is classed as chiptune?
Well, yeah…
Oh… I was going for the hardcore drum and bass you know?
Mixed with video game music…
Oh, interesting, s-
Thank you!
What? Oh…so, what’s
with the name? ‘01001110’?
Well it all adds to 4, my favourite number, due to it being
equal and even as well as mathematically symmetrical, but it’s also binary code
for ‘N’…
Oh, th-
It’s the square of 2. *self-absorbed grin*
Yes…it is…so, anyway,
how did you meet Hylian Lemon and get him to agree to feature in this album?
Turns out we both went to this ‘3 blokes go into a pub’ joke
re-enactment, and I had my Ipod with me with some external speakers. I played
some of my first lot of music, he liked it. “EH! Wanna collab something like
that?” That’s what he said. I said “Yeah… may as well”.
S…Wh…Hmmm…what about BRL?
He’s a college mate. Did music
tech… I didn’t. Now I’ve got 2 questions for you. What have you done with John?
And why was he only 3ft 7?
I’m curious as to what you have consumed before partaking in this
interview…
Well…?
I can’t answer that…partly because I don’t know who you’re talking
about, but mainly because I don’t want to. So, -
That’s not what it says on your massive name tag…
I’m not wearing a…never mind. So, -
So when is this interview
starting?
It’s already started.
Has it? Well ask away my Liverpuddlian
Dysprosodical friend! *beam*
Moving on from that remark…(I’m not from Liverpool…) So…
Yes?
Aren’t you going to interrupt me again?
Why would I? We’ve just started
the interview!
So…when’s the new album coming out?
Who’s?
*Glares*
Oh mine? Oh… well… umm. Hmm…
Sometime in the future?
You haven’t decided, have you?
No…
Can you give us a rough idea?
Okay! It will be released on my
birthday!
Oh, OK. Somewhat like David Bowie last month. When is your birthday?
It was 2 weeks ago.
So we need to wait another year?
Fine… when’s your birthday?
February.
Greeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaat! It’s
decided then. This June!
You sort of got my hopes up there…
Of course! June’s a good month!
Easter then!
But Easter…thank you very much for your time-
WAIT!! I’ve changed my mind…
February!
Thank you very much, NerdE, but I’m afraid we have to wrap things up
here otherwise there won’t be enough room in the magazine for anything else…
Alrighty then! Free-style! My
name’s NerdE! I’ve been sitting in a room with m’ homie! Sam, the wise man!
That’s cool because it rhymes with van, which rhymes with can, which rhymes
with Sam! Ending it here because it’s part of his evil plan! Com-
THANK YOU NerdE, that’s quite enough. We need to end the interview,
and…you’re…weird.
Nah, not really. I’ve just been
pulling your leg! *Laughs ecstatically*
End of Interview
We
didn’t learn too much about his new album, but we did find out some information
that the authorities may be interested in. We promise the next time you’ll see
his name in this magazine will be in the December Hot-Spot Issue! We’ll reveal
more about that on our website later in the year. We’ll also try our hardest to
make sure he doesn’t come anywhere near us again. ± Sam
