Mood Board - Target Audience


The target audience for my magazine is the same category of people that I fall into: gamer nerd. These people don’t just play video games, they live video games. A lot of our decisions are influenced by how it will affect the amount of time we get on our favourite games. Seeing as it is a music magazine that we are making, the genre of music will obviously be 8-bit/chiptune in order to allow slightly older people than myself to relive the days they used to spend on their old 8-bit consoles. The magazine will also appeal to this branch of people by including news on current indie games, like the ones you’d find on Steam and Newgrounds.

The images I chose are mainly based on the ‘hard-core gamer’, to exaggerate how video game influenced the magazine will actually be. The image of a crowd of ‘bronies’ cheering is merely there to represent the fact that I am aiming my magazine at the kinds of people who are devoted to the things that they love and so want to know as much about it as possible.
